The creative brief was to create a Gardener’s Journal Cover, featuring staghorn ferns and Japanese anemone. Additionally, the color greige must be incorporated.

I had the flexibility to go into any illustrative direction of my choosing. Since my niche is children’s and lifestyle illustration I wanted to create a design that would appeal to a younger female audience. After the figure sketch was determined, I tied in the ferns and anemones into a decorative border. I wanted the color pallet to create a soft approachable feeling.
